But I have never had cocoa butter take forever to set up. I usually let my lotions set over night like she did and they are the consistency that they are gonna be. Sort of like if I melt my whipped shea back down...it is never the same.

My guess would be because you remelted the emulsion down. Try another small test batch with the extra cocoa Butter and see whatcha get.

That would be a great site if it were up to date. I use J50 and a couple of the places they say carries it does not and one of them just recently went out of business.

I dont know if this will make a difference...but I much prefer the Polysorbate 80 on my recipies instead of the PS20. I dont use it in sprays, but I can tell the difference in my scrubs when all I have is PS20 instead of the PS80.

I have the same feeling as everyone else here...I think it is the glycerine. I cut it way back in my lotion and Body Butter also and it reduced the tackiness.

Hi just curious is your whipped shea like a lotion? or a shave cream? I'm trying to find a recipe that matches one that I saw at a craft show, the woman's shea butter was pure white and very creamy.

This like ...hmmmmmm...I would say more of a shaving cream consistency.

I use a Kitchen Aid mixer with the whipping attachment, I have aslo used a regular mixer.

Huh, where are you coming from. I never said I had a problem with the format, or programming. I had a problem with the fact that Frank was charging for free software.

I know a lot of you put countless hrs into your web sites and are truly upset and worried about this. All I can say is back eveything up. I have my entire site planned out and from the get go I saved every piece of info I put on there. Arent the rest of you doing that too? Yeah it would be a bitch to rebuild your site and I know most of you dont want to do that....so I guess some of you are just going to have to have a little faith. Adam, seems like you are happy with everything else just the fact that you think he is using free software and charging you for it? Even if he is using the free software, arent there fees involved with any other Hosting company? No, not picking on you...really I am not. I just think there are a lot of computer dummies out thre, me included, that are really getting upset over this 8-9 page thread....and maybe they dont have that much of a reason to be upset and jump ship.

Really??? Wholesale accouns actually pay more than $1 a piece for a votive??? hmmm maybe I should rethink my pricing. I charge .70 ea if I have to shrink wrap them and .65 if not. And I still make money.

I dont put mine in the fridge...I use the freezer...let it get back solid to the eye...then whip. I usually repeat this process one more time to get the consistency I want.

LOL...hey now, Karaoke is da bomb! It is the only chance I get to sing now. I used to sing in a band back home but here in NY I havent had the time to persue it again...so I have to get my fix somehow! Besides, when I sing I never have to buy a drink...especially if there are some really drunk, tone deaf people singin...lol....they always buy me drinks because they think I have to be drunk to sing...SHhhhhhhhhhhhhh dont tell anyone that I dont have to be...lol

You can use whatever butter you have on hand. I have changed a lot of mine to Mango as it is thicker and yes, a little less greasy. I use FCO, Almond, Olive and a few other oils according what I have on hand.

I have thought about this also. I want to keep my suppliers and such a secret not the actual process as, well, lets face it...it isnt rocket science.

So, I call on my candle making buddies to help me. They already have their own suppliers so I am not worried about keeping mine secret!

Stupid question I know...but does Solas Energy smell anything like the Energy from IFT?? I LOVE that scent but IFT's Energy turns brown in soap. I know I wont be able to get it from Solas but I can order from some of the other suppliers you guys are suggesting if it smells the same.

I cant wait to be able to make soap, lotions and scrubs in my new workspace! I am still moving in and man it is a chore! I HATE moving. Besides moving we are still doing the finish work. So, I will be painting trim, have to install the kickboard for the cabinets, electical outlets still need to be installed in the bedroom ..still Tons of stuff to do. But the fun part is I get to go shopping for new organization systems...YAY!!!!

Karol I dont know if you ever order from BCN but their Nag Champa is great and it sticks major in CP soap. LOL...I know you didnt ask about BCN but thought I would throw it out to ya.

I second Peaks Patchouli. I absolutly HATE Patchouli...smells like armpits to me...but I live in a very artsy town these tree huggers love the stuff!...lol I did use Tristates and it was a TRUE Patch....but unfortunatly they changed theirs and I had to look elsewhere. Peak has the closest true Patchouli I have come across.

I mix my own Raspberry Patchouli. 1 part Raspberry to 2 parts Patch.

Peak has an awesome Pine and so does TriState. I have used a few others like Just Scent and BCN...but IMO Peak and Tristate's are much stronger!

I get 8oz of Milk Bath into the little ones. They used to have the bigger ones, but I havent looked in a long time.

Tristate has a nice one...and Bitter Creek North also. I really like the one from Lebermuth but I dont order from them.

This used to be one of my best sellers....but for some reason it slacked off and I havent sold but about 12 candles in this scent in the past yr or so. Was also a best seller in B&B....but ya have to be careful...this one will turn brown. I had problems with my Bath Bombs and M&P soap.

Very smart...I say stay away from Just Crap. I use J50 and have NEVER had a problem getting scents to throw UNTIL I tried JS. The oils smell great out of bottle but dont smell at all in wax. Out of about 25 oils I tried I found 1 that was a real thrower for me. Chestnuts and Brown Sugar. Since I refuse to order from Becky...I found an awesome replacement for the one oil.
