  1. Hey Christina,

I know, it sounds to stupid, (but wait, it gets better...) around Valentines day, I had a couple of heart jars left over after my shows and thought about taking them to the florist/gift shop here in town. Drove the 2 minutes there, and sat in my car for 20 telling myself "I can do this". They loved them and took what I had left, (would approach them about my entire candle line, but they already have a candle supplier).

    And now for the kicker...

THE OWNER IS MY NEIGHBOR!!! No joke, lives right nextdoor.

As I right this, it dawns on me that I have issues!!

I'm off to bang my head against a wall and (hopefully) fix whatevers wrong in there!

    Thanks for everything!!

    Sara

  2. Hey Christina,

Thanks for the alternate idea. I hadn't thougth about offering her the free stuff. I did ask her if she wanted to host a candle party, but she's been working (literally) days in a row, so she said it would have to wait.

I still don't know what to do about asking her to be a rep, or something like that, (and I've read every post regarding it...must be the blonde hair).

I just don't know what to do, and I so hate to be confused, but I do want to find some way to involve her. She's almost become like family; with my knee surgery, she was so sweet and cooked for me and hubby.

Still lost in a state of confusion,

    Sara

  3. I don't know if it would be a sales rep, although I tend to doubt it...Having someone who just takes orders from you from their friends, family, co-workers, ect. but gets a commisssion for it.

I have a customer, (God love her) who orders every month for different birthdays, ect, and was thinking about how to approach her to see if she'd be interested in being a sales rep, but really don't know how to go about it, (AT ALL!!).

Would she have to purchase the candles up front, (I feel bad, she's a single mom who doesn't get child support, so money's tight).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    TIA,

    Sara

  4. To the best of my knowledge, you can use the pictures on that site for certain things (labels), but you're not allowed to use the pictures in something you'd actually sell, (like a hurricane).

I contacted one of the photographers about using her pic for a hurricane, and she said that she'd love to let me, but because of the restrictions on the contract, she wasn't allowed to.

Ok, don't know if that makes sense, but I hope it helps a little!

  5. Hey all,

I'm hoping you can help me out here ~ I've just gotten a chance to go over some statements from my current credit card processer and turns out they've been charging me like $40/month instead of the $20 I was originally quoted.

So, I know that many of you use Propay and was wondering if you would jump in with your experiences with them and any pros and cons that I should know about. Also, how many of you use their prepaid mastercard thingie instead of transfering the funds into your bank account?

    Any help would be great!

    TIA,

    Sara

  6. Hey Portia,

Thanks for the reply. You helped a lot! This is my first time mixing scents and I'm a little nervous. (of course, if I like the way they come out, I'm gonna be a mixing fool!).

I'll give it a try and let you know how it turns out.

    Thanks again,

    Sara

  7. Ok, so I have a B&B save Vanilla and a Jasmine and need to mix for a Jasmine Vanilla lotion. Has anyone mixed those scents, and do you think a 50/50 combination would work?

What's the best way to go about mixing and/or testing to get the right scent?

    TIA,

    Sara

  8. Hey AJ,

Thanks for the reply! (did you get the e-mail about them getting the colored boxes??).

I didn't even think about using regular tarts, but using a mold for soap and scoring it so that the customer could break them up (along the scores), but then again, I'm just trying to figure out something to make to use those boxes...:laugh2:.

    Sara

  9. if anyone had ever thought of using the soap boxes from The Scent Works to package tarts, (I guess they would be like clamshells, if clamshells are what I think they are)?

The only reason I ask is because I love the boxes with the leaf cutout and I don't make soaps!

Just a thought to ponder. Please let me know what you think, for all I know I may be completely out of my mind!

    TIA for any thoughts,

    Sara

  10. I have finally finished my wholesale package, (easy to do when you have 12 hours with nothing more than the computer, a book and the tv!).

I e-mailed it to the store thats interested this afternoon and now just have to wait and HOPE that they respond are are still interested. I guess this is the nerve racking part huh?

My problem is that while I know that I make a great product, I don't have the self confidence to believe that anyone would actually be interested, so I kind of write it off as a "why would anyone be interested in my products...".

Oh well, thanks for letting me share, and if you feel like it, keep your fingers crossed for me!

    Thanks again,

    Sara

  11. I got a letter from a company yesterday requesting wholesale information and I have no idea where to start. I meant to sit down and put together a wholesale package, but never had the time. Now I have the time, but am flying because of these pain pills (percoset and vicoden) and of course, have to put something together NOW!!

When you guys put together a wholesale info package, do you include pictures, or just prices and let them go to your website to see pictures? I know that I need to have all the terms and conditions, but I have no idea where to start.

I don't suppose that anyone has a wholesale package they'd be willing to share so that I can get some ideas? (if not, I completely understand!). I'm just stumped and can't figure out where to start, and of course I can't even get up and pace, I'm just stuck in this recliner...:undecided.

Thank you all in advance for any help you can throw my way. I'd love to get this account, but just can't think right!

    Hugs to all,

    Sara
