  1. I'd like to know too. I store all of my candles in a room that gets down to around 55 degrees in the winter.
  2. Whew! Glad to hear you're still around Kathy - was worried for a minute there!
  3. Oh man!! I've been enjoying their wax so much since I got it last week, I really hope it doesn't mean they went out of business. Their FO's are awesome too.
  4. Thanks! I figured it was something simple like that, LOL!
  5. Can I ask how you got your wick to curl - that's cute. I've noticed a few others do that too - I've never seen it before (I'm fairly new here).
  6. At my party, we had 3 types of wine, fall/halloween candies, snickerdoodle cookies, flavored coffee, chips/pretzels/dip but I thought a cheeseball and crackers would have been nice but we forgot it.
  7. Don't get discouraged! If you really enjoy making candles then you won't mind all the testing that goes into it. I bet you can find some good guinea pigs ... I know we all have friends and family who love to test our candles. As for making money, you probably could if you have an awesome product and can afford lots of money ahead to buy in bulk. In the beginning, I couldn't afford to buy in bulk ... it's taken me four years to get there! But, I don't do it to make money really, I enjoy pouring candles (I'm a stay at home mom to five children and I homeschool three of them so far) and its a nice outlet for me to relax after the kids are in bed. I enjoy selling my products to use that money to invest in a larger supply of candle scents and wax. I can't wait until someday when I can have 100 real sized bottles of scent (not just testers) and be able to buy 200 lbs of wax at a time instead of just 50lbs Hang in there - it also helps if you have business sense (which I don't)
  8. Yep - so why not learn from the trained consultants!
  9. Here's a great site I discovered before doing my first home party: http://bestofboards.com/ It's geared for PL consultants but you can apply it to your own candle business, they have grerat ideas on their message boards. Check it out!
  10. The two I absolutely cannot stand are Warm Vanilla Sugar (ick ick ick ... turns my stomach even typing it!) and Sex on the Beach (smells like kerosene and gives me a headache). :tongue2: :tongue2:
  11. What do you all do when it comes to shipping candles? Do you do a flat rate or exact costs? I just mailed my first out-of-town order today and was shocked that it cost me $9.50 to ship three 16 oz candles. eeeks!
  12. Do any of you use FO's from the Candle Source in your soy wax? If so, what were your results? Their prices are so inexpensive so it makes me wonder how great they are... TIA!
  13. I'm sold. I'll have to order it next time. I'm chomping at the bit to place another order for scents soon...
