  1. Every single oil I have gotten from her is great. Earthen Oak ( one candle fills the whole house) Celestial sea, Fall festival, Vanilla Noel, Sweet Indian Corn. Her oils are very high quality and complex.
  2. I did a search first as I can't believe I am the first to ask this question. But the search came up empty. I was in an upscale interors store yesterday and saw these gorgeous Lafco candle containers. They are called Art glass vessels. If you don't know what i am talking about you can google it and lots will pop up. The continers are gorgeous and come in all different colors. The candles sell for $55 each (ouch!) Just wondering if anyone has come across a supplier of these beautiful art glass containers. Thanks
  3. That is very interesting. However, wonder why you need the plaster paris? How about just scenting up wax and dipping styrofoam balls in it. I think I have seen that done before. They look like snowballs.
  4. I thought it would be interesting to see what others do with fragrance oils that don't really "work" for them for one reason or another. Maybe you love the scent but it doesn't throw well for you or smells chemically when buring. Or maybe you just don't really love the smell and don't want to waste your wax on it, or add it to your line or you still love it but it's just too old to sell to someone else. So......... other than sell it in classified adds, what else do you do with them? I'll start. I got one of those little electric lamps that you pour fo into and if I have an oil that I don't want to put into my wax I will use it in my little oil lamp instead. I also use oils that I like but don't throw well in homemade potpourri. Any other suggestions?
  5. From your description it makes me think of sexy Egypt so how about Cleopatra's Kiss..... or breath...... or touch........
  6. I can't remember the spiced cranberry I used last year. it filled my whole house and was great for the holidays. It may have been natures garden, but I am not sure. Will some of you share your favorite spiced cranberry supplier? Thanks so much.
  7. I can't remember the one I got last time. Maybe it was NG, but it was really good. Any help with spiced cranberry?
  8. I missed out on the .99 sample sale, but ordered a few to try anyway. Please please some of you that got in on the sale and ordered lots of them POST your reviews. I am so impressed with the few I ordered I will be getting more. I use CBL 129 which is a parafin blend (no soy) Used 1 oz. per pound Hansel and Gretels house: This scents rocks! It is really strong and when I am burning several candles at once you can smell it over everything else. I was thinking it would be more like a gingerbread but it is not. It is more of an oatmeal raisin cookie type smell. I have a large house and you can even smell it upstairs. It is delicious. Highly recommend if you like the baked cookie type smells. Pumpkin Souffle YUM< YUM I just love this. To my nose it is more of a warm, buttery, nutty pumpkin. I don't pick up on the spice much. It is not like a pumpkin pie. It is different from the other pumpkin scents I have tried and not a "bakery" type smell to my nose. It throws really well, maybe not quite as strong as the Hansel and Gretals house, but almost. The two burning at the same time, Heavenly! Red Hot Cinammon: This was just OK for me. it does smell like red hot candies but I expected the hot throw to be stronger. It is not what I would call "weak" but it doesn't "hold a candle" (pun intended) to the above two in my wax. Cranberry Marmalade: I have not burned this one yet. Think I 'll go do that now and let ya know. The cold throw is nice and I can smell other fruit in there more than any spice. This is NOT like the spiced cranberries I have tried. Ok, now some of you reading this post your reviews so I can go order some more from them. Very satisfied new customer here.
  9. Interesting thread. Aside for the ebay/price debate. Let's talk candle! Her candles are really cute. I wanna try some of her ideas. Here is my question. Can you put all those embeds into a candle like that and still maintain the integrity of your burn/melt pool? I make container candles and it would be easy to add in some embeds during the pour, then place some on top, but I just don't know if the candle would burn right. Does anyone on here do this or have an opinion? I always see these embeds advertised as being for GEL candles.
  10. How wide is the opening on that 7.5oz. jar? It will probably need a 51zinc, but it might be OK with a 42z. CBL is easy to wick. I get by with a 42 in the 8oz. tins and some jars that size but the tins do create heat of their own after being lite awhile
  11. I missed out on the $1.00 sale. If any of you find you got some you don't want to pour or ordered more than one I would like to try several of them. I can paypal or swap for other stuff. I have lots of great oils from KY (vickey's)
  12. Ky candle wax supply just put out a new fo today and you can get the 2 oz. sample for only $2.00 It's called cornbread.
  13. I have used this wax for years, but know it's not very popular anymore. Just wondering if there are any of you left on here and if so what are your current favorite FO's in this wax? I still like the oils from KY the best, but admit I have not tried most of the newer suppliers. I am burning KY's sweet potato pie this week and it is just devine! Also the pumpkin crunch cake from NG doing well in it.
  14. I have never ordered from sweet cakes due to their prices, however I noticed they have a good price (for them, LOL) on their creamy pumpkin. Was thinking of giving it a try. Has anyone tried this or their pecan pie in candles? That one is on sale as well. Actually several of their holiday type scents are on sale for under $20.00 a pound; Pecan pie, mulberry deluxe, sleigh ride, nutcracker, holiday memories,.... anyone used these in CANDLES? I use a parafffin blend (cbl 129) thanks for your help.
  15. I love this thread. I am looking toward the Christmas season. There are so many Cranberry (esp. spiced cranberry), Pumpkin, and Gingerbread choices. Does anyone have some twins in these so I don't have to test so many! This is fun. BTW, I don't know if I got the wrong thing or not, but KY (Vickey's) donut smells like warm vanilla sugar to me. Anyone else think so?
