Grani L
Hello All, I am just a little frustrated right now. I made a 6006 candle and I made one with straight 464. I used 6% of Candle science's Honey Dew. -- Well after a good 2 week cure, the Cold Throw is there, but Hot Throw is non existent in both candles. I added the FO to the wax at around 180. Wicking was pretty good as on the 3 - 4 burn - I got a 1/4 inch MP. So - my question is - Do you find that melon scents need more scent in order for them to work? In this instance, the process is to drop the honey dew melon and move on to the next scent. It is pretty strong in the bottle -- So are there scent types that you find works better that others using 6006?
Guest OldGlory
I use both of those waxes and know for a fact that some FOs don't work. Before you give up, can you give each candle to a different person to test for you? If your testers can't smell it, I would scratch that FO from my list. wthomas57
Havent tried the melon scents, but never have problems with HT in 6006. What wicks are you using?
bfroberts
I haven't used a lot of melon FO's, so I can't speak for them as a group. I do use a lot of CS Honeydew as it is a staple in my lineup. I'm using 6006 and get a great HT at 8%. I'm using 51z zinc wicks, 12 oz status jars with a 8% FO load. I wasn't happy with less than 8%.
