Dolphin146
I have begun making firestarters. Being in Arizona in the winter many people have fireplaces and firepits. So they should be a good seller for me. My question is when you put one in the fireplace or pit does the wax burn up or does it sit in the bottom of your fireplace? I am thinking it burns up But I just wanted to make sure. Incase someone asks me.
blacktieaffair
I make mine with cedar pet bedding chips and wax, and there's not a drop left of anything
tbowers8403
Do you scent them?
ksranch
I mix my wax with sawdust - nothing left. It is scented wax as it is leftover stuff from testing etc
blacktieaffair
I don't scent them on purpose. I use a lot of wax accumulated over time from melts I burn for my own personal enjoyment, and that from dipping tp or pinecones so they usually have some scent in them , but no , I don't purposely scent them

Sharon in KY
Try your own firestarter and see for yourself. I don't have a fireplace, stove or firepit so I took one to the back yard and placed on a rock, lit, and watched it burned up. That way you can tell them what yours does. I gave one to neighbor with a fireplace, she lit the wick and the whole thing was on fire in no time with the flame being spread by the wax. Looked cool.PS I have a bunch of cut wicks that I use in firestarters if anyone needs some. PM me.

blacktieaffair
For me, dryer lint just didn't last near as long nor look as nice as using wood chips of some sort.
Dolphin146
I agree with Blacktie Dryer lint doesn't burn as long as wood chips.
