GrannyAnnieCandles
I am confused about using Canola in soaps. I read Miller's soapmaking and saw her recipes for using Canola. Seems to make a shiny, hard bar. Then I did a quick check here and found it causes DOS and not many use it. Today, I saw Brambleberry had a recipe for a Impressionist Soap using 10 oz because it traces slow and good for layering colors. So.....does it add anything to the soap besides making it hard and shiny?
Kitn
I use 8% canola in almost every batch. I have never had DOS..If you play around in soap calc it brings quite a bit to the mix. ime.
