sunharbor
I am new to working with paraffin...usually do para-soy tarts. I am using a 50/50 mix of 4625 & J223, heating to 190, adding dye, adding fo at 180, stirring until it reaches 145 to pour into portion cups. To 5 ounces of wax blend I am adding .6 oz. of fo. Does all this sound correct...heating temp, adding fo temp, etc? Thanks.
ksranch
Yes, the temps all sound fine to me - I use nothing but pariffin.
sunharbor
Oh thank you sooo much ksranch!!! I'm really enjoying the paraffin route over the para-soy...well at least so far. Someone (not on here) said I don't add enough fo though. .6 oz sounded enough to me in 5 oz of wax...any thoughts on that.
ksranch
It's more than I normally use. 1oz per pound - with only 5 ounces I'd be at about .4 oz FO - so it's plenty!
sunharbor
Thanks Ksranch....that's what I thought too. I'd go broke on fo's using anymore than that.
Ravens
I agree with ksranch, that's a lot of FO to use. 1oz. pp is enough; jmho :-)
