TammyGCC
When I started making candles this has been years ago. I purchased some books that said you can use crayons to color in small amounts. I was wondering if any one has done that.
Pam W
you can use crayons but you will not get a good burn because the crayons will clog the wick.
Brewer Rich
MANY years ago I had a candle making kit with which I made a bunch of candles using crayons for color. I doubt that the candles burnt correctly but it sure was a blast trying the different colors! To me the candles looked great but I was a kid and didn't know any better. Cake
I also used crayons to color the wax back when I made my first couple of candles. They were BIG fails lol. You might be able to dip a core candle in to crayon dyed wax. But crayons clog up the wicks really bad otherwise. HTH
Sharon in KY
I thought using soy crayons would work. But it didn't, could see the color in the wick as it burned. With a very tiny flame I might add. Now tarts would work.
TammyGCC
Thank you for all the info. I do not think crayons for color is the way to go. I will stick to my blocks of color I was only curious.
