Grumpy Girl
Has anyone ever sucessfully done this?http://www.millersoap.com/glycerinsoap.htmlI'm seriously considering it since the cost of Melt and Pour are kinda high... I wonder if it's worth it?
Carrie
There are several people on the SoapDish that make transparent soap. There is one person near me that has made it and she said once was enough. There was too much work involved...LOLSorry can't help further. RobinInOR
It was a mess, and it smelled, and it wasn't transparent. What she's trying to do is shortcut the procedures that Catherine Failor showed in her book "Making Transparent Soap". I'd pick that up and read up on the theory. It's very time consuming, but not particularly hard - it's like doing HP with extra steps at the end. What's hard is getting it clear, not cloudy. So using generic soap scraps won't necessarily get you a good transparency.
Glowlite
I tried it once. I hated the process and the soap came out an amber color. Transparent but amber. Once was enough for me.
