Wicking TCS 128? Anybody successful?

Recommended Posts

So I bought a couple slabs of this container wax from The Candle Source, the TCS 128.

I'm not getting it to wick well. All the wicks I've tried drown out. I'm using pure wax, no additive, no FO, no color.

The ECO wicks seem to do the best. After about the third or fourth standard burn the wick seems to clog up and the flame goes down to a little ball.

HTP's didn't do well at all, went to a small flame after the first burn. Some carbon on the top of the wick. If I tap it while burning with a stick, the cap comes off and the flame height goes back to normal -- for a few minutes only.

Zinc core - useless

Cotton core - useless

square braid - torch at first from large size then kinda OK, but I'm concerned about overwicking just to deal with the wax issues.

Any ideas?
