pixie
I saw an advertisement on etsy for a salt scrub. The listing said it was enriched with mango, banana and coconut. Doesnt the fruit go bad in the scrub? How do they add this with out it rotting? Does the salt act as a natural preservative or is a commercial preservative necessary and if so what kind? Thanks guys, I'd really like to learn more about these scrubs
LovelyLathers
I am sure they must be using the powdered extracts. You can not use real fruit in them unless you make it and use it with in a day or 2. The coconut is probably coconut oil. Here is a link to the powders http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/raw-materials-fruit-extracts-c-13_61.htmlHope that helps.
