Scented
another massage formula? It does everything the recipe said it would ... melts on contact, feels good on skin, has good glide, but ... it isn't going to hold up in the heat either. Sigh. I don't really want to increase the beeswax in this to get a lotion bar consistency. Any other suggestions? (And this is not my recipe, but I did sub in shea for the avocado butter, because I didn't have any, and I did swap out .5 oz of kukui oil for camelina oil, because my skin needs it and I did add 1 oz of butter-ez to avoid grainy.)1 oz wt. cosmetic grade beeswax 3 oz wt deodorized cocoa butter 2 oz wt. kokum butter 1.5 oz wt. avocado butter 1.5 oz wt. kukui seed oil.1 oz wt. natural vitamin E .3 - .5 oz wt. favorite fragrance or essential oil. Recipe yields approx. 10 oz wtHeat your solids (beeswax & butters)until they are liquid. Add in the rest of your ingredients and stir thoroughly. Pour mixture into the containers or molds of your choice (try the conversations candy heart molds), then wait for them to solidify before using. Recipe variations: you can increase the amount of beeswax and get a lotion bar consistency instead of the massage melt- that will melt with the warmth of your touch. A double batch will make about 45 .55 oz melts.
mychellec
Maybe more kokum or cocoa and a little less oil? Still soft enough to not be a bar but not too melty. I do a balm with coconut, kokum, and soy butter and it holds up beautifully (no beeswax).

Change out the beeswax with either carnuba or candelilla.Carnuba is HARDEST. I would swap out maybe .25oz of the beeswax for either of these. orSub some of the above for the CB. You wouldn't really miss .25oz of CB.orAdd in some cetyl!!! LOLcut formula in 1/2. Weigh it in grams.
Scented
It's all coming down to cetyl isn't it? LOL!I will find harder waxes ... should have thought of that before I made the stuff, except this was a first for the recipe. Now to construct a second ha.
