rebeccajo99
I was in process of making up a batch of soap, but just before I was going to take down the lye and mix it up with my water, my youngest woke up from his nap. I don't trust him awake without dad home when I soap, so I just turned off the crock pot and now just waiting for the hubby to get home so I can finish up the soap.Do I or should I warm the oils back up before mixing with the lye or can I just turn the crockpot back on and go? I just checked on it and nothing is hardening back up yet (palm or coconut oil). The crockpot has been off for about 3 1/2 hours. Thanks
Kitn
If you are doing HP, I would warm the oils back up again. It will help speed up your HP process.
rebeccajo99
Thanks. I warmed up the oils again and tried making the soap. It was a new recipe that I was trying and it went right into the trash. I'm not even going to attemt to see if I can save it. The oils all seporated, it looks like cottage cheese, and it was lye heavy (probably because the oils seporated). The soap calc printout is even going into the trash. I have not even figured out why I decided to try a new recipe since I'm IN LOVE with my current recipe. Probably because I found it online, sounded yummy, and thought, why not try it and because I love to try new things
