TheWickedWick
Anyone use the Crafter's Choice Mitre Box from WSP and the wavy slicer together? I'm having trouble getting consistent 1" slices when I use the wavy cutter. The ridges from the cutter do not allow the soap to sit firmly against the mitre box's headboard therefore making soap slices uneven in thickness. When I use the straight cutter I get 8 1" slices from a loaf which is the right amount. WSP's product video shows the mitre box being used with both types of slicers, straight and wavy. I've placed an inquiry on their forum board but have not heard anything yet. Anyone else have this problem or any solutions.TIAKaren
TheWickedWick
Anyone use a mitre box and a wavy cutter for their loaf soaps? Doesn't have to be from WSP. I just need to figure out how they do it to get even 1" cuts consistently. ThanksKaren
kestagano04
I always use a wavy cutter with my mitre box. The only time I've had problems with uneven slices is when I turned the cutter while not paying attention, because the cutter is offset. I like to face it in the direction to where it would be offset to the left for thicker slices.I place my straight cutter in as a stopper, and make sure I hold the loaf securely in place as I cut. Starr
I never had very good luck cutting M&P with either a straight or a wavy slicer. I will say that the biggest problem I often had was with uneven slices but for me it was often better with the wavy cutter versus the straight. asheebeans
Yes, I get wonky slices every time I use that thing! But, my mitre box is a poor Asheebean's "tank"! LOL Alas, I cannot afford a "tank" soapcutter yet.
