Garf
I just looked at Peaks site. I saw 1343A, but not 1343N. Is the N still available, or am I out of luck?
topofmurrayhill
I have a vague recollection of someone selling that years ago, probably because they got a shipment of non-mottling 1343 and had to get rid of it.1343 seems like a fairly broad-cut and slightly isoparaffinic wax, which makes it more pliable and translucent with variable mottling tendencies. If a batch is a little too isoparaffinic it won't mottle at all, but the suppliers don't normally offer that. You can simulate it by just getting regular 1343A or 1239A and adding a little microcrystalline wax to it. You could even try a fraction of a percent of Vybar 260 if all you want to do is kill the mottle without changing the wax properties too much.I might have other ideas if that doesn't address what you're trying to do. Garf
Are there any other pillar waxes that don't mottle?
