Firefly
Hello,I got a votive mold that is 1.75" diameter and 2" high. I've made beeswax in containers before and want to try votives. Any idea what wick size I should start experimenting with? This is where I bought the mold. http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.ca/votive-candle-mold-6up-tray-p-1657.htmlI will also contact the company but they take a few days to get back to me so thought I'd check here as well. ChrisR
In my beeswax votives I use LX 16. Just remember the darker the beeswax, the higher you need to go in your wicking. Square braids 2/0, 3/0 and 4/0 work for votives also, start with the smallest 4/0 and work your way up. Good luck with the testing!!
Firefly
ChrisR,Thanks, I think I have all those sizes too. I'll post here if I have a successful experiment.
beekeeper_sd
I think I would start with #2 square braided wick. All cotton, of course.
