mango butter instead of cocoa butter

Can I use mango butter instead of cocoa butter in my soap recipe?

I think that question would be better answered in the soap section. To answer it though I would not use mango butter in soap making it is far better used in lotions.

yes, but not exactly - but asking this in the soap section would be better.

what I mean is that you can use mango in soap, as you can use any oil - but it is not a direct replacement for cocoa butter: you may get different results and you need to recalculate the lye required.

I also want to be clear that as carebear said you can use mango butter in soap but not as a direct replacement. I still wouldn't use such a nice butter in my wash off product though.
