soy or palm wax for votives

Recommended Posts

I have been using soy wax for several years, but I am thinking of changing to palm wax. I am not 100% happy with my votives, so I don't offer them currently at show, I make them for friends or cutomers that are willing to be test subjects. I would love to hear other peoples opinions if they have made the change.

TIA,

Kim

I like 'em both! I use Ecosoya PB and pillar palm waxes (IGI R2778A & R2779A + palm stearic acid) for molded votives. For container votives (one poured into a container of some kind), I use NatureWax C3 (+ USA additive) or IGI R2322A (Glass Glow).

Soy-based votives have more CT, to me. However, HT is great in both. Palm votives have the advantage of the crystal appearance, which is very showy. :)
