thecraftasaurus
Has anyone ever taken candle dye chips through airport security? I would really like to save on some shipping while I'm in Denver next week but my husband is just sure that TSA agents will flip out over several packages of dye chips. I honestly don't know why they would, but I figured I'd ask.
Judy, USMC
I've taken liquid dye & 10# bag of palm with no problem in my checked bag. The only restriction for carry-on was for liquids & gels. I've taken container candles through carry-on and they have always pulled me on the side and opened the bag for a search. To be on the safe side I'd recommend putting it in a checked bag.I was flying Southwest from Raleigh to Chicago.Once when I was flying from Chicago (MDW) to Raleigh they did open my checked bag that had the TSA lock on it. I had some container testers on top of the curling iron cord. Might have looked suspicious on an x-ray. I've also been known to mail things to myself ... thecraftasaurus
Thanks for the input :smiley2: I think I'm just going to skip the whole airport thing and still pick up the dyes but have my mom priority ship them to our house. It'll still be cheaper then paying for shipping.
