  1. I second overnight prints. You can ALWAYS find discount codes online that you can use.
  2. We just set up a new site so I can better manage everything. It's still in process, I have so much more to add! http://modwax.com
  3. Try companies like Travelers, The Hartford or Allied Insurance. I used to work for a commercial insurance broker as an account manager and I wrote a few liability policies for local candle shops. All of those companies should allow for a small deposit and monthly billing. Make sure you push for what YOU want, some companies will play like they can't do monthly payments but you say you're walking and they'll meet your requirements to get the business. Good luck!
  4. I love Peak! There is always a handwritten thank you on the order sheet and I love the sample FO they include. When I found out we were moving to Colorado I was beyond thrilled.
  5. I have never done anything with Sunshine and I got this same email yesterday. I wonder where it came from...
  6. I guess the use of more wax really wasn't my biggest concern. I did realize tonight as I stood in the kitchen that the stupid window in there really isn't all that well sealed. And our landlord doesn't seem to care. Oh to have my own house again! My biggest concern is that while test burning I found the scent throw to not be nearly as strong we when I tested before in Kansas City. I have always used 1oz per 1 pound of wax and found that combination to work for me. Argh, back to testing for me.
  7. Thank you! I somehow missed this thread when I searched.
  8. We recently just moved to Colorado and I've poured my first few batches of votives since we moved. First off, it seemed like it took more wax then I was used to using in Kansas City to pour a dozen candles. Second, during a test burn I've found that the candle burns more quickly and the scent throw isn't that great. I've not changed anything in how I'm pouring or in the amounts of dye/FO. I am using IGI-4625 to pour. Dye Chips and usually Peak FO's. Does this have anything to do with the elevation? This is getting really frustrating!!
  9. I LOVE Amish Harvest from Peak. It's rare for me to find a scent that even my husband can deal with and he loves it too.
  10. I tried this already, baked bread and rosemary exactly. They didn't like it at all.
  11. Thanks for all the advice everyone! I guess they want these candles as a giveaway or something to do with marketing. The problem is that they have an idea in their head of what they want and they don't understand that I can't just dump anything into wax to make a scent. They've even asked if I can put real pepperoni in while I'm melting the wax!!
  12. What is SOS? Apparently I've missed something good!
  13. Don't ever waste your money on that one...it smelled like rotten cheese :lipsrseal
  14. *sigh* I wish I could try that. This place is totally stuck on wanting a pizza scent. It's taken me weeks to convince them that I can't just make an actual pizza scent into a fragrance oil.
  15. Has anyone ever come across a true garlic FO? A roasted garlic would work as well. I'm still working with my pizzeria to find a scent they like.
  16. As a former commercial insurance agent, I'd for sure tell you to get some liability coverage. Some of the coverage I placed was less then $200 per year, this was for small businesses. You never know, especially with things that use fire, if someone will do something silly and then blame you. Are there any commercial insurance places where you live? Offices that place coverage for Allied, The Hartford or Travelers should be able to help you. I also suggest going to those company specific websites to find a local agent. Good luck!
  17. Good thing I looked at this before I did anything! :laugh2:I kind of wondered about that but had not really done my research. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm not going to give this person what she is looking for. High on her list was pepperoni.
  18. Thanks everyone. I thought I'd be way out of line asking for payment on samples but you've made me feel much better about it! I really like the credit idea on the first order.
  19. Those are so cute! Good luck with your sales. :smiley2:
  20. If you offer samples to customers, what are your limits? I've got a few clients that want super customized candles, but they want samples of multiple scents. I don't mind doing this for people, but I also don't want to be sending six or a dozen candles to people who haven't committed to buying! How do I put limits on what I'll do without sounding like a jerk?
  21. mmmmm, chocolate and marshmallow. That sounds delicious. How about: Chocolate and Birthday Cake Chocolate and Cinnamon??? Chocolate and Vanilla Chocolate and Orange (This would be awesome)
  22. Couldn't do it. I threw it away. First time that's ever happened to me. I've actually ordered some FO in bread, rosemary, basil, etc...I'm debating about just putting some dried herbs into the wax to see what I can come up with.
  23. Oh that is fantastic! I knew someone out there would have access to another place that I couldn't think of. After my husband opened up the bottle of pizza FO last night and stunk up our house I tossed it. I just couldn't bring myself to pour with it. I'm not even going to try that one.
