tamese
I've been useing 4630 wax lately and I've tried a different supplier. The first supplier said it wouold hold 10 -12%, the second supplier said theirs only holds 8-10%. If their both 4630 shouldn't they both hold the same amount of scent? The reason I changed is that the first suppliers had a lot of water in it.
LeahRB
Probably just the suppliers opinion on how much FO the wax will hold. But, I have heard that the wax can vary slightly depending on the area where the supplier gets the wax. Supposed to be the same though. I would just test it for myself and use the same amount of FO that you normally do and see how it works. Have a great day!
topofmurrayhill
The manufacturer says it holds 8-10%.That's only an approximation. There's not really any precise amount that the wax can hold. The only way to know the best amount or the maximum amount of FO to use is by testing. It can vary depending on the fragrance and could even be less than 8%. Each FO is different in terms of how compatible it is with the wax, how it affects the burn qualities of the candle, and how strongly it throws scent.
