WillowBoo
Has anyone tried slipping a tube sock over your candles (with the foot part cut away) when cooling them? It helps slow down the cooling process and as long as you've preheated your jar, it helps with the frosting (if using a soy blend) or with wet spots. Sharon in KY
Sounds good, thanks. If my kids were still here I would have a ton of socks I could use. Maybe fold the top part over the bottom to make them twice as thick/insulated.
Karen M
Sounds like a hassle to me. JMO
skydreamer
WillowBoo, I have tried this with my palm pillars to assist with keeping them warm and slow the cooling process, works great!
WillowBoo
It probably would be a pain if you were doing any kind of a large production, but for a dozen or so, it's not a pain. I just open up the oven door after warming up the jars, slip the sock over (keep the cuff part up or it likes to slip under the jar) and easily transfer them to the counter to pour. You can double it over if you are using a smaller jar. It really helps slow down the cooling process. Especially right now...it's semi warm during the day and then gets pretty chilly at night. Stella1952
Me, I'd just open up the oven door one more time and slip 'em back in there to cool. For single, made-to-order candles, this would be a great idea for pillars, etc.
