geekrunner
I have quite a few really nice sized pine cones that I cannot use in firestarters, and so I'll try my hand at air fresheners. Has anyone here tried that with any success? Any tips are appreciated!
candleessence
I use palm wax for dipping them-I don't color the wax b/c then it looks like snow. I usually dip them about 3 times and they come out smelling pretty strong. I can't help you w/ FO% -wax though because Im not familiar w/ soy. Fern-Marie
Hi Geekrunner,Please, clue me in on this....real pinecones, like, from the back yard? You dip them in scented wax and sell them??? That sounds like something I would buy! I got a bag of Cinnamon scented pine cones at K-Mart some years ago...man, were they strong. I placed them within the branches of the Christmas tree, and various spots around the house...it was wonderful. I just LOVE pinecones.Any info you could share would be much appreciated.Thanks,Fern-Marie
maryann
I want to try this too. I saw someone have regular p.cones in a basket w/ white Christmas lights and thought that would be a good idea for dipped cones mixed with fake pine branch sprigs (if that makes sense). I've heard that Palm wax is a harder wax than soy, would that make it preferable to soy?
candleessence
I also have a large stock of paraffin, the reason I use palm is because it creates a "crystal" like effect, to me, looking more like snow. I really am clueless to the attributes of soy :embarasse But I would think any wax that is "hard" and can hold a high percentage of FO would work well.
