NatalieJ
Hi everyone. I am sorry if this was asked before. I've done tons of searching and I haven't found any answers to my questions so I decided to start a thread. My question is... to make reed diffusers, all I have to do is mix DPG with candle fragrance? At a half/half mixture? I keep hearing that with the DPG that it doesn't work well because it's too thick. Has anyone had any sucess using the DPG to make reed diffusers at all? Thanks in advance and again if this was asked before then my apologies. NatalieJ
Sorry if this sounds strange but what is the pre made diffuser base? I kept reading about it when I was doing a search but I have never heard of it before now. What exactly is it?
SharonA
I don't think you want to use DPG. It's too thick. Most suppliers now carry what is called a diffuser base. The one I'm using is from candles and supplies. So far, I've gotten great results from every scent I've tested.
NatalieJ
Thanks Sharon. I've checked it out and the supplier that I usually use doesn't carry the diffuser base but I am hoping that they will in the near future. Otherwise I have found it through another supplier. Have you ever come across a fragrance that just didn't work in the base? From all the reading I've been doing, I'm seeing that the thicker oils just don't do well in the reed diffuser kits? Has this ever happened to you?
SharonA
I've only tested about 6 oils so far and they have all worked. I have not tried any vanillas yet and I've heard they tend to clog the reeds. Good luck
ReneeM
Diffuser base from JS works really well. We use her bottles, reeds and base and have has great results and sales! HTH!
