Jorie
I was in a rush this weekend to make a bath set for a fundraiser and ended up making about 3X as much lotion as I really need . I do this as a hobby and don't really sell my products and I am wondering what I should do with all of this? I know that someone had once suggested taking extras to a shelter, how would you suggest I do this, particularly again since I am not doing this as a business that I can say that I am making the donation from. OverSoyed
A woman's shelter would be great. You should have listings in your white pages.
sudsnwicks
You can just give it to them. That's what I do. Unless you're trying to get a tax deduction it wouldn't be necessary to say it came from XYZ Company.
OverSoyed
You can still get a tax deduction of up to $250.00, as a personal contribution. You just have to have them sign a piece of paper with the declared value. No big hassle for them, and I'm sure they would appreciate it. Jorie
Thanks, I was more wondering if they would have issues of liability, you know in case someone gets a rash or something.
sockmonkey
Just make sure you label it properly (which includes a street address as well as ingredients). If it's really a lot you might sign up for a craft show to get rid of it, list it on Craiglist or sell it on ebay. sudsnwicks
As far as liability issues, my guess is that whatever due diligence you did for the fundraiser would work for the women's shelter as well.
Jorie
it's three pounds worth, or close to it. I guess I will take it over as I have the label now to them and see what they say. It has the ingrediants on it but not my address. Im a bit wary to put that on there since I live just across the street.

I do not put my home address on my products.
