singleyellowrose
How come some sites list J223 at 60# and others at 66#? Aren't all cases the same?TIA
mizbizzyb
Some suppliers list the weight of the wax....others seem to list the weight of the wax and box for shipping purposes. From what I recall seeing in the past
Doneen
IGI recently changed the size of their wax cases, so you are probably seeing some of the old that is still in stock from a previous batch, and some new recent batches with the new case size. singleyellowrose
Thanks for the heads up. So is the new case size is 66#? I have been trying to find the best pricing on it. Some suppliers are showing 60# cases with higher pricing and some are showing 66# with higher pricing.
singleyellowrose
One supplier has 60# case for 80.95 and another has a 66# case for $81.18.
fredron
A case of any IGI wax used to be 55# (5 slabs of 11#). Now there are 6 slabs of 11#, so the case should be 66#. I have not weighed one, but they are definately heavier. I have to carry them down the cellar stairs, and they are definately heavier.I guess they are trying to cut down on the number of cardboard cases they use, as a cost cutting measure, since oil prices are so high, and they want to avoid price increases again. bugtussle
My cases of 223 are 6 slabs @ 10#s each. It has been this way for over a year. We have weighed a slab many times. When a supplier says 66#s, I believe they are including the box weight. Carole

flightoffancy
I just got in a case of 6028 and the weight w/box is 70 lbs exactly.I know that a lot of suppliers mention that not every slab is an exact 11 lbs, I've had slabs range from 10 - 12 lbs but a case is usually dead on at 66 lbs of wax. singleyellowrose
How come a slab is 11# but a case is 60# from the same supplier? That doesn't make any sense to me..
