noobsterdrenrae
My wife and I are huge candle lovers and would like to start making our own. We purchased a votive making kit to try our hand at our new hobby and were pleasantly surprised with the results. We would now like to take the next step and try adding scents and playing with colors and molds (pillars to be exact). In reading through the forums it looks like we need diffrent waxes and FO's to be successful in this new venture. Can any of you recommend waxes that will be good for votives, pillars and that will hold a lot of fragrance? Also what company offers a great peach, and pear scent? MaryinCary
Welcome to the board Noobster. Congrats on your votive success! What kind of pillars do you want to make. That is going to determine what type of pillar wax that you move onto. There are so many different types of waxes, each with their own special characteristis. Research this board and it's archives, browse the gallery and see what appeals to you. Most of what you find will say which type of wax was used. Once you find what type of pillar, come on back with your ?'s and someone will steer you in the right direction. Good luck and enjoy your new addiction! eugenia
Hi there, Noobster. When choosing a wax, proximity of the supplier is a huge consideration. Wax is HEAVY and with fuel costs rising, shipping keeps increasing. Here is a link for you:http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.htmlRead up, see what you might be interested in and ask away! We'll be happy to give our opinions.e
