Seaglass Candle
Does anyone have a good recipe for a leave-in hair detangler? My daughter's hair is superfine and tends to matt in clumps! I hate the stickiness of the kid's type of spray detanglers I've bought. And they don't seem to last. Her hair gets mangled by the end of the day and she wants to grow it down to her backside again! Is there something w/ cyclomethicone or glycerine or is there a different ingredient altogether that I should be trying? Thanks in advance! Jadryga
Cyclo's a good detangler. If you want a silicone-free option, try broccoli seed oil. It functions like a silicone. It's got a faint fresh broccoli sort of smell (some say it smells a little like soy sauce), but it doesn't last, and a bit of eo or fo should cover it right up.There are discussions on broccoli oil on the hair forums, and they say it functions exactly like silicones/dry oils. Lots of shine and detangling.I was actually thinking of making a leave-in spray conditioner with broccoli seed oil before this Hope this helps! pamperme
Where on earth do you find broccoli seed oil?...that is the first time I have ever heard of that one. Sounds like something I need to make for my daughter.

HeavenScentU
I am going to have to try it. My hair is one big tangle. My hair was 3 ft. long and I couldn't stand it so I cut 1 ft. off. It doesn't tangle as much but it still does and I have been wondering what else I could try. Thanks alot.
Vio
I found a recipe. Don't know anything about any of this stuff, but bored and just reading, so did a google and got a hit. Also read where rosemary eo and jojoba oil helps as well. http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/recipe/recipe.asp?recipe_id=

Jadryga
Vio, I wouldn't really trust GSE as a sole preservative, but otherwise that seems like a fairly easy recipe to make I don't really like the feel of glycerin on my hair though, it feels.. weird.Rachel, you're welcome! I've got some broccoli seed oil, watermelon seed oil and other goodies coming in from GoW (yay, Markey!) and I can't wait to play Those things have been on my wishlist for AGES. Watermelon seed oil especially. My idea was... some broccoli seed oil with rosemary, cedarwood and a little lavender eo in a spray bottle (my hair's so thick I always find it hard to distribute oils/serums effectively). I found these blends on the Rainbow Meadow Blend Recipe Calculator (that thing is addictive):Hairglow Blendhttp://www.rainbowmeadow.com/infocenter/calc_eoblend/viewblends.php?BID=445Silken Strands Blendhttp://www.rainbowmeadow.com/infocenter/calc_eoblend/viewblends.php?BID=66Just in case you wanted to play with the calculator http://www.rainbowmeadow.com/infocenter/calc_eoblend/blendselect.phpThe Herbarie has an oil-soluble botanical complex for hair:http://www.theherbarie.com/Botanical-Complex-LHC-pr-34.htmlas well as some awesome oil-soluble extracts:http://www.theherbarie.com/Botanical-Extracts---Oil-Soluble-c-19.html
Vio
I don't make my own b&b, but will note that for the future if I ever decide to make anything for hair with gse. Thanks. My daughter's hair is really long and I use infusium leave on conditioner, in a mister bottle to detangle wet and dry. Never leaves any weird feeling on her hair, but her hair is thick, not fine. I've seen many sites when searching, say to use conditioner that is diluted. Maybe find a light conditioner recipe, and dilute it a bit more? pamperme
I personally have not had luck with diluting conditioner...for me or my daughter...but both of us have very fine hair. Mine is naturally curly and hers is straight...but tangles horrible and she has a sensitive scalp and has a fit every time I comb or brush her hair. I have tried the cylo sprays for hair as well..but they leave it greasy looking... helps with the detangle part but looks like the hair was not washed in weeks. Vio
I know infusium sells a light formula. I had a mister bottle, and put some in that and use it on my daughter. I couldn't find anything that would work on her hair otherwise, so the stuff works. The deep conditioning liquid is very liquid, so I would imagine the lighter formula is just as liquid. Maybe if you look at the ingredients of the light one you might get an idea if it would be too heavy for her hair?
pamperme
I used infusium a long long time ago...may have to try the light formula. Thanks!
