Dying wicks

Recommended Posts

Could someone please help me to make sense of this. I know I'm probably making it harder than it should be, but I am so frustrated I can't think straight. In several of my scents that I'm testing (new wax)(double wick in 4" jar) , after the second or third burn the wicks seem to almost die or one actually does die.

To me it seems like they are robbing oxygen from each other. So if this is correct I should wick down, right? I have tried wicking up on a couple of these and can't get past the problem. Or maybe my wicks are too close together? I don't know what to think anymore, I'm so flustered! Please help me get my mind around this before I lose it(my mind) LOL.

Thanks

Rebecca

What wicks have you tried? I have found 4" to be very frustrating - one size wick burns too hot, then next size down, is not enough. It is enough to drive you completely insane. Most of my luck has been with the ECO 10's but they even burn a bit hotter than I'd like but the 8's just don't cut it.
