MochaMama
What are fruit oils? I was listening to the radio and someone was talking about using fruit oils, such as mango and papaya in their body butters. Is this just a tricky way of saying flavor oils? I couldn't find any evidence online of a papaya essential oil or a mango essential oil.
Jadryga
"Papaya oil" probably means papaya seed oil. It's a carrier, not an essential oil.http://www.earthoil.com/Speciality-Oils-Papaya-Seed-Oil-3340http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/product.asp?product_id=oilpapaya&affiliate=32964I'm not too sure about the mango... is there such a thing as fractionated mango oil? As far as I know the only "oil" available from mangoes is mango butter from the seed.UPDATE: Ahh... here we go! My theory was right for the mango oil.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mango_oilhttp://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/product.asp?product_id=oilmango
jaybyrd
Maybe they were referring to all the fats as "oils" & were talking about butter, but there are papaya and mango seed oils. They're the fractionated oils that come out during the butter-making process. FNWL carries both:http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/product.asp?product_id=oilmango&searchflag=1http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com/product.asp?product_id=oilpapaya&affiliate=32964HTH
