crazycacti
Hi! I am a beginning CP maker. Made one batch late last week that was too soft to cut the first day-so I let it sit iver night again and went to cut it. It was still very soft-but was able to get it out of the box without too much damage. Made a few soap balls and have all resting. How long should it take if it was going to harden? Made a small different batch couple days before and are the right kind of hard!!Or when should i decide to toss it in on this one?If you do "rebatch" does that mena i throw it all in the pot and heat/melt and remold? or add stuff? Thanks!! CareBear
I usually cut within 24 hours. Tell us your recipe and we can help a bit more.

CareBear
well your recipe looks right. are your sure your scale is accurate? a quick test is that 5 quarters weigh exactly 1 oz.another possibility is that you never got your soap to full trace, but then you usually would end up with oozing and separation. Meridith
Since you have a higher percentage of olive oil, it might take a while for the soap to harden. But once it gets hard, it will be very hard. You also superfatted at 6% which can make the cure time to harden up longer.
CareBear
good point on the OO. My castile takes quite some time.
Crafty1_AJ
I was also going to suggest that high humidity will delay soap's hardening up. However, if you live in the low desert, this should not be a problem since I know AZ has NO humidity there. LOL
crazycacti
Thanks for the replies-may just give some time-think accuracy of my scale may be an issue!! And believe it or not-duting the monsoons in the summer-we get some "serious" humidity going on-or feels pretty darn serious!May go peak at soap now!!
