elitenaildesign
I cant believe how expensive this stuff is. Is there something that can sub for Vit E. This is for hobby and swaps only, so spending $15 for 2oz is kinda spendy.
Jami
You can get Vitamin E at walmart or a local drug store and its MUCH cheaper!!!I bought mine in a little pump bottle that was like $3 and I also bought the gel capsules. Some recipes I have seen say "10 vit e caps" so I poke a hole in the capsule and squeeze out the vitamin e lol None of my recipes call for more than 1/4 oz per batch so a little bottle is going to go a LONG way.Hope this helps a little! Jadryga
Try looking in other places, the price of vit E usually varies.MMS has some for a LOT cheaper, it's at the bottom of the page.natural vit E,: 2oz - $6.90, 4oz - $13.20vit E acetate - 2oz - $4.00, 4oz - $8.00http://www.thesage.com/catalog/Additives.htmlLotioncrafter.com has them as well, though I find that for lotioncrafter goodies the slightly larger sizes are usually more worth your money vit E acetate: 2oz - $7.00, 4oz - $9.75Covi-Ox T50 Mixed Tocopherols: 4oz - $8.50, 8oz - $13.50http://www.lotioncrafter.com/store/Nutrients-c-256.html
cellydaniel
I use wheat germ oil. This oil has a very high content of vit E and from my research I have found that you can add this oil as a preservative as well. Here is one of the link that I have found :http://www.sheabutter.com/productsmed.php?currentcategory=86&selectedcategory=0&x=
ChrisR
Vit E is an antioxidant, not a preservative!! It will help with extending oils with a lower shelf life, but will not preserve anything against bacteria, mold, etc.
cellydaniel
Yes, you are right!I meant antioxidant not preservative sorry about thatCelly
elegantnaturals
Meadowfoam is also good although that can be a bit spendy too. But if you buy a big enough bottle, you won't have to purchase again for a long time!
