Outside container temperature

I'm searching to see if there's a guideline on what temperature the outside of glass containers should be within to be considered safe. I'm double wicking 4 inch jars with CDN's and parasoy blend (mostly soy). Tried searching, couldn't find the right thread, figured there is probably one out there, just not wording it correctly. If anyone knows, would appreciate the link. Also, how do you get the temperature of glass?
