Yorkie Girl
I poured my first gel candles yesterday and I am very frustrated. I used High density gel from Longstar. I thought the false teeth in a bottlte would make a great over the hill candle. I poured my teeth and little tablet with IGI 1274 mottling wax...they came out perfect. As soon as I poured the gel over them they looked perfect then started to melt? Am I pouring too Hot? If so How do you pour it cool, it getts so thick? Any help would be greatly appreciated. CrystalClear
You can do 2 things: 1. Pour at a very cool temp2. Pour your gel, wait for it to set up a bit and then insert your embed. Although, if you do it this way, your embed might not sit on the "bottom" of the candle.Personally, I would just pour the gel at a very cool temp, unless you want your embed to suspend. Luci
I find it helpful to put my embeds in the freezer for a few minutes before pouring. I also pour at a lower temp.
