Cindys
I suddenly started having a problem leveling pillars.I use a griddle and a level and have always done OK. Now it seems like the wick gets in the way for me to level.I end up snipping some of the wick and digging it out. I know this is not right. What am I doing wrong???? valerie6
Hi,Wish I had an answer for you I just started using this wax and am having the same issues, someone told me they used a large steak knife and eyeballed it, maybe someone with more advice will chime in here. Sorry I was not of any help!Valerie
jakalex
The few palm pillars I have made with the CS palm wax have been easy to level. I make them without the wick and then drill the hole and insert the pre-tabbed wick. Before I drill the hole I put a pan in the oven at 200 and then once it is hot I just press the bottom of the pillar on the pan and give it a few turns until it is level. Cindys
Should I switch over to wick pins? I dont think I could use a drill and my DH isnt in to my candles much..
Mexitan
wick pins 100% easier IMO
Stella1952
We use wick pins but still end up escavating sometimes to accommodate the wick tab...
Toni S.
I agree with Stella, I like the wick pins myself. Makes the job much easier!!
Everito Bandito
Leave the candle in the mold whilst you're leveling. If using wick pins, put the wick pin in upside down to keep the melted wax from running up the wick hole.
