slehr
I'm new to candle making and I'm finding that the candles are only burning in a well which extinguishes the wick. Any suggestions......
lindanelson
Hi and welcome to candle making.Your wick is too small. What is the diameter of the widest part of your container?Different waxes and fragrance oils play a part here also. For the most part it has to do with the diameter of the container.I use soy and palm wax with the lx series wicks.
slehr
Thanks! I'll get some bigger wicks and try it again.
lindanelson
You are welcome. I use the wick suggestion chart on www.candlescience.com for a starting point.I usually have to wick up a couple sizes from their suggestions.
SatinDucky
Welcome to CT and candle making It's also possible that pigment or something is clogging the wick. More specific info helps ...BTW: It's known as tunneling. If you use the "search" feature, you can find all kinds of information
