Art and Craft Show Advice, Hints & Tips?

Recommended Posts

I've recently been tossing around the idea of entering my candles into an Art or Craft show at the end of the summer. It is still an idea and nothing written in stone.

For those of you who have done art and craft shows with your candles before - do you have any advice or tips? Is there anything that you wished you would have known or thought of beforehand that would have made it run smoother?

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Hello, Boy oh boy, I could go on forever about the things I wish I knew before a craft show.See if you can set up the day or evening before. Its alot of work setting your booth up. Then you will be able to see what materials you forgot. Make your booth inviting to the customer.I learned this the hard way. Try and have things at eye level. Dont make tons of stuff. Thats where I went wrong I had so much stuff that it was overwhelming. I truly believe from all the shows I have done that the average person will spend $10.00 with out really thinking about it. Anything over that they tend to him and hah. I have gorgeous seashell canes that I priced at $25.00. I sold 3 at the spring show and I had about 50 of them. I love making things so I go crazy when I start.Meet and greet the customers be friendly. Some people will not respond well but the majority of the people like this greeting.Stay positive know your product and mostly relax and enjoy. You will not believe how nice all the other vendors are. I have made so many friends and have a ball. Good Luck
