Wick'n'Wax
Hi I'm making a pie today, it will have paraffin crust, paraffin apple slices with some paraffin apple below that for the slices to sit on.I'm going to try some kind of top crust, but if I can't master that, I thought of drizzling some gel wax over, slightly coloured, although I haven't got any FO for the gel wax, there'll be enough scent in the rest. When I did the gel one with paraffin strawberries before I used gel wax wicks and they were ok.Can I use 51-32-18z for this, even if theres a bit of gel wax near the top or will they just not work?I have some Lx wicks too, but its because I'm combining paraffin with gel, I'm not sure
Connie
Zinc's work fine in gel. If you are scenting you embeds and crust, that too should be scented with gel safe FO. Don't know what size pie you are doing though, 9",5",3".
Wick'n'Wax
Hi I've not got any gel safe, thats why I wasn't scenting the gel.I'll just have to do it all paraffin and try and make some kind of top crust instead of the gel, I think. It's a 5inch pie crust

Wick'n'Wax
Just realised I've got quite a big cutter in the shape of an apple, so going to try and make a top crust with that cut out.Need to wick the bottom crust now though so off to check around see if 51-32-18z are ok for paraffin, wondering on 2 or 3 wicks tho
Connie
If you are just using parafinn and no gel, then I would start with 2 51's zinc for a 5" pie.
