If you're making CPHP soap (oven method), at what stage do you add stearic acid. Is 1% per pound the correct amount and will it affect the soap in any way other than making it harder? krazeforsoap Posted April 17, 2007 Share Posted April 17, 2007 As Eugenia stated, stearic acid is not needed in your soap formula at all. Some soapers use it to firm up their bars a bit.
