atropa
Has anyone experienced soap turning pink with Sweetcakes sandalwood FO? The smell is delicious, but they didn't say anything about the soap turning pink.
Purple Lilac
I have had Lily of the Valley fo turn my soap pink when I added it to the soap - just a reaction between the soap and fo - but it changed back to white the next day so there is still hope for your sandalwood. atropa
That's a hopeful thought! Maybe it will. Thanks! Even if it doesn't it'll still be beautiful. My soaps are like my kids, they're all beautiful to me no matter what. So far anyway lol!
RobinInOR
No ones reported discoloration yet http://scentreviewboard.obisoap.ca/viewtopic.php?t=617 (a great B&B scent review board)
atropa
thanks, I didn't know about the scent review. I used some cocoa powder to try to swirl it a little, maybe that affected it? I'm new to this, can you tell lol.
Purple Lilac
I have used cocoa powder before and have not had that problem but it was not sweetcakes fo ,though. Just keep notes on what you did. Notes are very helpful if you want to refer to a certain batch you made. Believe me, you may think you will remember but after a time all the batchs seem to blend together. One other thing I do - is when I have a certain fo react differently in soap ( accell trace, in this case change color, etc) I make a note right on the fo label that way I have the info in front of me when I go to choose it.Happy Soapin'
Sara
Sometimes different ingrediants can be a factor, too. I've had FOs sieze up on me that were supposed to be well-natured ones. LOL. I like to check places (like the one Robin posted) and see if others have the same problems with FOs that go nutty on me
atropa
Well, they turned back to their original color. Strange interlude though lol!
