VickiB in CA
I butted in on another conversation about using dyes in soy. I'm new to the soy "thang" so wasn't aware of the problems you can have with soy. I put my BCN liquid dyes in a lavender last night and the color is fine so far. When does the problem usually arise - after it sits for a while? Also - what is FROSTING? Sorry - I should know this by now :rolleyes2ps - I'm working with the Calwax Calsoy CB3.Thanks!VickiB in CA
Henryk
If your liquids are working for you thats fine. Its not a problem for everyone. Sometimes I have had problems when using a LOT of liquid dye in soy to get dark colors where it wouldn't even set up properly (I didn't have to wait for it to cool). Some soy manufacturers will state this issue in a more general way - mentioning the solvents in the liquid dye causing bleeds or frosting. I had this problem in soy/cottonseed blends in the past with liquid dye (haven't use liquids in my current soy).Example of frost in standalone soy candles: http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=gallery;action=display;num=1107964776;start=6Example of frost in jars: http://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=gallery;action=display;num=1117478177;start=
