ilovesmellycandles
Hi all I was wondering what type/brand of wax you all use for candle tarts/melts? Also, where is the best place to buy FO's from as I want really strong smelling tarts/melts?Your help is appreciated as I am having problems in getting a really great scent throw with the wax CBL-129.....:undecidedThanks
Ring of Fire
I use CB and 4794 for tarts. Also several other blends. I throw some soy in also when I feel like it. Isn't CBL 129 a container wax? Add some paraffin to it. CBL 141 is great, and so is OK6228. There are tons of places with good FO's. FOHNGTCNCandle ScienceSolasCandle SourceDaystarOld MillMillcreek, the list goes on. ilovesmellycandles
Thanks for your reply Ring of FireI was told by Candlewic to use CBL129 for tarts/melts.Apparently it is a paraffin wax. It's their custom blend wax.I'm so confused now on what wax I should be using for tarts/melts.How is your scent throw in the 4794 as I want really strong tarts/melts. fredron
I have used IGI 6228 for pillars, votives, and tarts since I started, and have never been disappointed. The FO comes from a variety of sources.Fredron
wvcandleguy
I use a 50/50 blend of OK6228 and J223. They come out awsome and the scent thro both hot and cold is very good. My best advice is to play around with it.... try different waxes and blends to see which you like best.... hth and good luck
