SLSa and/or citric acid for bath salts

Recommended Posts

I purchased some already made bath salts and they do not bubble. The ingredients list is: sea salt, vegetable glycerin, cosmetic grade/manufacturers fragrance oil, FD&C approved colorant, and vitamin E. Is it okay to add either citric acid and/or Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa) to the already made salts? I have never used either of these. If it is okay to use them, do I need both for the bubbles or just one? I read to use 1-3 percent of the SLSa, but could not find how much of the citric acid per pound of salts? Thank you.

If it's bubbles you're after there's no need for the citric acid, all it will do is just fizz for a bit. I think you'll need more than 1-3% of SLSA especially with the glycerine & Vit E. Typical usage rates ar 10%. Try it and see.
