  1. I think the addition of a bit of lanolin in your recipe will help keep the honey incorporated. I've never tried it but have seen it mentioned before. Some people are allergic to lanolin though so that may be a concern.
  2. So the soap in the foot molds is CP? Do you let them gel or not? I bet that BRV smells as good as it looks!
  3. WYW Perfect Pumpkin, available at BCN Strong, spicy and throws great hot & cold in 100% soy
  4. 100% soy melt to 180-185 add colour as soon as it's off the heat FO at 170-175 pour slushy around 100-102
  5. What part of the country are you from SoapDiva? There are several good suppliers out West and in ON. I'm in the East and it's slim pickin's here except for 1 or 2 suppliers. Here's a newer one (to me anyway) that I'm thinking of trying. I've heard good things about the FO's. She has a Yahoo group as well and runs prebuys often. http://www.goatmilkskincare.com/fragranceoilsmain.html
  6. This is where I get all of my EO's. Great quality and service!
  7. I use Firefox and had no problems opening any of the pages, no script errors.
  8. I think it looks great and I love that green! One thing I noticed was that the 'Son' in Sonflower is hard to see with it being on top of the trees. I also noticed on your policy page the statment about liability. Do you consider this sufficient for insurance purposes? Just curious is all. Good job, I hope you do well with it!
  9. Sorry, I don't like it either but that's JMO. It's too cutsie unless your target is young girls. I also think the patootie should be spelled properly. Good luck with it.
  10. Candle Cocoon is also in WI. Lucky you to have several good suppliers so close!
  11. Sherri, all 3 of the oils you are asking about have a flashpoint of greater than 200 degrees. These are NOT considered hazardous material and are allowed to be shipped internationally via USPS. There are no crazy packaging and labelling rules to follow for these either. If these are worth the hassle for you and I suspect they are then contact BCN. There is no excuse for these not to be sent to you, they won't be breaking any laws and have to use any fancy or more expensive packaging. Good luck Sherri!
  12. For anything under the 200 degree FP there is NO international shipping period. No air or surface. That is my understanding of the 'new' regulations as I read them. Sucks huh?
  13. AFAIK Solas never shipped to Canada. I recently ordered from Peaks twice with no problems. I hesitate to say that as they may stop shipping USPS too :undecided. I was informed this week that Candle Cocoon is only shipping UPS now too. I really wish there was more info and reviews of the FOs from Canwax and VCC. I am stocked up for the summer but I think I will start ordering some samplers from them this fall and start my testing over again. I use soy so my choices are more limited than if I used paraffin. I hope some of the US suppliers will consider having distributors here. I'm sure it's not as easy as it sounds but hopefully our business is worth it.
  14. DHL is no better than UPS, for me at least. They are both courier services so they both charge brokerage fees. The only difference with DHL is that you get the bill for brokerage about a month later, UPS you have to pay upfront.
  15. I use 0.5 - 0.7 oz ppo in cp. Any more than that I personally find too strong but you could use more. At 0.5 oz ppo it's just the right amount of 'tingle' for me. Sorry, I don't do lotions.
  16. I was contacted directly via phone by BCN and they told me they no longer shipped FO's via USPS, period. I also expressed my concerns in a followup email but have heard nothing back. I only ordered 1 16 oz bottle of FO and it has a flashpoint of greater than 200. I don't know what volume of their FO orders come from Canada but it will be basically zero now. I just hope that other suppliers like yourself SoapersWorkshop will be as accommodating. Geez, most of my fragrances come from the US. I'd seriously have to wonder if I could continue in this biz if I get cut off. Two + years of testing down the drain
  17. Candle Cocoon & Peaks are great in my 100% soy.
  18. I don't see anything really wrong with your site. The only thing that jumped out at me is your prices. In my opinion I feel that you are not charging enough for your products. We all know what goes into perfecting our stuff so don't sell yourself short! Of course this is just my opinion and I have no idea of your costs.
  19. I just got a call yesterday after I had placed an order for a few things. No more shipping FO's via USPS! WYW has closed here in Canada so Bittercreek was the only place left to get them. Since I can't have stuff shipped via UPS I guess I will have to cross them off my supplier list. Too bad as I have always had excellent customer service from them.
  20. I have suffered with psoriasis all my life and while it's never been debilitating it has been a nuisance. Try formulating with oils that resemble our own skin's sebum. Jojoba is great as is apricot kernal and almond oil. They will help seal in moisture. Avoid any mineral oils, petroleum (ie Vaseline) and any synthetic fragrances. Also, diet plays a major role in controlling this condition.
  21. EL container blend (not the millenium) and EL votive blend. I've never had any cracking issues with this votive wax. I like it because it is a pure soy and it gives very consistant results.
  22. If it's bubbles you're after there's no need for the citric acid, all it will do is just fizz for a bit. I think you'll need more than 1-3% of SLSA especially with the glycerine & Vit E. Typical usage rates ar 10%. Try it and see.
  23. dpowell, what type of clear labels are you using, the ones from online labels/labelsbythesheet? Also, are you printing in colour on these or just black? If you print in colour, what setting are you using? Sorry for all the questions, I have the same printer but haven't used it yet and am trying to decide on what labels to order. Thanks!
