elitenaildesign
Just when I thought I might have this down, I dont. Apparently I dont know what I am doing for a 4lb batch and did not pick up enough CO at Walmart. I would really like to get these things made tonght. I only have about 44oz of CO total and a little shea(maybe 5 or 6 oz) Is there anything else I can put in these things other than CO. I have OO, safflower and some avacado, lard, shortening(very low on supplies)Can any of these be put in there.
Steph in tx
For my 4lb batch I only used 2lbs of oils (Coconut, Mango) and used 2lbs of salt. The salt will make the soap expand. Filled my mold just fine. HTH
maryann
The CO and salt balance each other. I wonder if you can use PKO for the remainder of the CO in the recipe- anyone??
elitenaildesign
I tweaked it a bit. I think this should work this time.:tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe:
LovelyLathers
Do you have any pko? That can be used with co even babassu oil will work with it.
elitenaildesign
Ok, heres the scenerio. I got everything going. Seperated a bit to do 2 colors. Most of it lime and the other part turqiose. Put it in the slab and guess what. There was the fo sitting there just staring at me. I forgot to put it in. SO instead of ruining another batch, i just poured it in the slab and stirred like crazy. Now its one solid lime green. Its in the oven now. Please pray for me and my salt bars:eek:
LovelyLathers
OH NO! Sorry you had this problem. It seems salt bars gremlins are at your house big time. You need to do some kind of dance to get rid of them. Lime green is good though. It will look good in my bathroom! Atleast you noticed it befor the bar set up . Nice save! maryann
How is it??Ya know I get mine in the mold (leaving it on the table). Clean up and go back and cut it up. Mine's done that fast! Its hot when I'm cutting but other wise it sets too much and it crumbles on me.
elitenaildesign
Its in the oven right now gelling. I think I am going to just take it out and leave it alone for a while. I did do some pre cutting
