Grumpy Girl
Yep, I tried it about 3am, and it wasn't soap yet. It's translucent now so maybe I can start diluting it soon. I hope.
Bunny
Am running to the kitchen with the stick blender! Just added 16 extra ounces to it, and it's still on low heat. This is freakin crazy! I don't remember it taking near this long last time!

thecandlespastore
Darn, reading this is giving me that "make liquid soap" lust feeling. :tiptoe: off to setup double boiler....I potato mashed my last batch to death to get those giant chunks to dilute. Remember that picture I posted with the 2 spatulas stuck in the gel? To refresh your memory:http://candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41611&highlight=liquid+soap+adventuresNext time I will save my arms of steel and use the stick blender:laugh2:
thecandlespastore
Bunny, do tell about making this stuff with surfactants, as I think my bubble honey needs a little bit more of a kick in the staying power of my bubbles with the natural stuff. Grumpy Girl
You know, I'm really not too sure about this batch. I neutralized it, mixed in the FO and color and bam, it was like glue. I thinned it down just a tad and put it into a jar, but it's still thick as hell with foam on top of it. Really, the foam is more like, hell, it's thick like paste, that's all I can tell you.I think tomorrow I shall try this again.Damn Soap Fairies... Bunny
Skim that foam off and chuck it in the trash! From what I understand it's supposed to be the not pure stuff. Is it clearlike underneath?
Grumpy Girl
It's clear underneath, but it's slowly clearing up towards the top. I'll see what it looks like in the morning and scrape it if necessary.
Hibiscus
Skim that foam off and chuck it in the trash! From what I understand it's supposed to be the not pure stuff. Is it clearlike underneath? Now this is new to me. What would make the foam impure? I mean are we talking foam or a sludge like substance...got me sooo confused right now.
