The first candles I made, I used the ones from Michaels... the little square ones with the cut out X in the middle you just poke the wick through. Those let the bottom heat up too much because the flame just basically sits on bottom when it burns down. I left a large ugly black burn circle on my wood coffee table from the container getting too hot! Thank goodness the glass didn't shatter It only took once for me to learn that lesson, then again, I'm reminded every time i look at my not-so-beautiful-anymore table Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
