jamie
I have used J223 for a long time. I usually heat to 180' mix Fo and color, stir-stir-stir- for 2 minutes then pour around 160'. Is this correct ? What temps do you use?Jamie
Georgia
I've since switched, but when I used 223 that's the temps I used.Oop! I just re-read your question. I put color in at 180*, stir and added FO at around 165*, stir and pour.
7 Pawz
I've used J223 about 2 yrs. I heat the wax to 180, during that time, as soon as the wax has melted, I add the color, stir about 1 min. when the temp reached 180, i add fo and stir at least one minute or until fo has blended, (some spice fo's are hard to blend),then i let the wax cool to 150 and pour:)
dest
I pretty much do the same. I get my wax to 180, add dye & stir then add fo & stir(like it was said before, some oils need alot more stirring) & then pour @ 150. HTH ~dest

Sherl
I actually don't do the temp thing.. I melt in a turkey roaster and measure into pour pot. Then it goes into a presto that I use as a double boiler, add color while I wick heated jars. When jars ready I add fo and pour. I have found in my cool basement and the jars I use this wax makes a large sink hole. But, if I stir the wick as it is cooling, putting it in a box to cool after the top skins over, I pretty much avoid that problem. I avoid many of the wet spots as well.
