Lightning Bug
Hi! I do like Peak's cotton wicks. They burn without that big mushroom and just wanting to double check myself...Do any of you use them and if so, do you think an 80C is too big for an 8 oz. jelly jar? TIA Beth
mappam
I will be interested to hear about these wicks also. I have heard good things about them but never tried them myself.
Carriegsxr6
hmmmmm, I would actually start with the 75.
geekrunner
I have tried the C80 in a 2.75 inch Anchor Hocking 12 oz Royal Ruby Red apothecary jar, and in plain MC soy (no FO/dye) it left just a slight hangup. it does burn well, with very little mushrooming. I also have an 8 oz jelly jar, but not tested anything in it yet. When I do, I'll let you know.
Meridith
I use soy/bw with no dye in the widemouth mason jar (3 inch diameter opening). I tried the 85's and found them to be just a bit too small and didn't give a great burn/mp with this jar. Too bad because I liked how they didn't mushroom as much. Lightning Bug
Well, I tried the 75's but they didn't clear my jars. The 80C worked fine in light scents like Hollyberry. One thing the jelly jars are tapered and the wick will seem to burn hotter near the bottom. Got about the same burn as an Eco 6. I had hoped the 85 would work in square mason jars, but probably not on most scents. Maybe in my hex jars? And, I changed wax, so now need to retest as this wax seems to burn easier than the plain 415. Gotta use them somewhere! Beth
